The Hindu temple project is complete! The panels depict a segment of the Bhagavad Gita, with Hare Krishna charioteering for Arjuna. As shown, these are the six panels about 90% done. The piece is 8 feet high and over 25 feet long. Your monitor may show the backgrounds in different blues, but they are all the same. You may be able to see where the letters are ghosted in also. They are painted on a clear acrylic plastic so they can be backlit much like a stained glass window. I worked with George Arnold of Durable Designs to fabricate this piece. http://www.durabledesigns.com The final piece is schedualed to be installed this winter in Boiling Springs SC at the Hindu Temple Society.
About the Painting "The Vinyard"
This autumn, when the air was crisp and the mountains prepared to dress in the true hues of the season, La Bastide French Country Inn held its annual Harvest Festival. In addition to its wine tasting and wonderful lunch, La Bastide provided various demonstrations and events to include the invitation of several local artists. These artists were invited to paint plein air in the vinyard during the festival to capture the flavor of the event and/or the feel of the vineyard. Several of the artists, to include Donna, had to return later in the week to finish their works to get the detail where it needed to be. In November, La Bastide held a wine tasting featuring the finished paintings by the participating artists. To the left is the finished painting, done in acrylic, and simply titled "The Vineyard".
